Learn More:

Bradley Frizzell is a fervent supporter and performer of new music. He is currently the clarinetist for the Black Sheep Contemporary Ensemble. As a member of the ensemble, Bradley takes an active part in creating and performing interdisciplinary projects which often include music, dance, visual art, or theatre. Through these projects Bradley found a love for pushing the boundaries of contemporary performance. Whether it be dancing while playing clarinet, getting food spit at him during a clarinet solo, or improvising based on his environment - Bradley seeks to keep expanding upon what it means to be a performer in the modern day. He often commissions new works and even replays older works by living composers that have yet to be utilized after their premiere. His latest endeavor will be a concert featuring theatrical and experimental pieces composed by George Aperghis. Mr. Frizzell is also an avid soloist, performing at venues all across the United States. He has given recitals featuring works of various genres, from classical to contemporary. Bradley’s upcoming solo recital will include all works written by Boston composers. Bradley also serves as the Educational Outreach Coordinator for his ensemble which allows him to create and curate educational events for people of all age groups through the creation and study of graphic scores, text based scores, and improvisation. In addition, Bradley helps the Boston Woodwind Studio where he teaches private clarinet lessons. Through his performing and educating he hopes to create and foster a community of new music lovers and performers. Bradley received his M.M. from the Boston Conservatory where he studied with Michael Norsworthy. His past teachers include Louis DeMartino and Jerry Simas. When Bradley isn’t performing he is often learning about new coffee roasts on his way to becoming an official coffee master at Starbucks.
